Before installing Artificial Turf you will need the proper tools for the job. Please see the list of tools above.
Prepare the base
Most outdoor applications require preparation of an aggregate base to allow proper water drainage. Simply clear the surface where your Artificial Turf will be placed, removing any unwanted grass and roots.
Once clear, add a two to four-inch layer of crushed aggregate until achieving the desired shape and contour. Work the aggregate with a rake and hand tamp until the surface is compact and smooth.
Trim to size
With the base ready, position your synthetic lawn and trim to shape. If using more than one roll of Artificial Turf Supplies, make sure the “grain” of the grass fibers point in the same direction.
Glue together seams
To seam Artificial Turf together, align two pieces of Artificial Turf edge-to-edge. Fold back the edges to lay Artificial Turf seaming cloth the length of the seam.
Secure in place
Secure the seaming cloth in place. Apply seaming adhesive to the cloth, spreading to a consistent thickness. After a few minutes, slowly ease the two edges back together, checking the fit as you go.
To secure your synthetic turf , use five to six-inch galvanized nails or landscape anchor pins around the perimeter and where necessary to keep your synthetic lawn flat.
Groom your artificial grass
Finally. Infill is highly recommended. Infill makes the blades or filaments in the artificial turf stand up and improves the look, weight, feel, drainage and life expectancy of the artificial turf. For areas where infill is inappropriate (indoors or anywhere sand creates a problem), the thatch layer helps the filaments stand up. The most popular infill is sand for synthetic lawn because it is readily available, cost effective and environmentally neutral.
Use a landscape rake or broom to brush the fibers up and rinse with a garden hose. Periodic brushing and rinsing will keep your Artificial Turf looking fresh, natural and beautiful for years to come.
TIP : The sand infill is so important so don’t compromise. Not only does it improve the look of the lawn but more importantly it protects the backing from the UV rays.
Our lawn turfs have perforations that drain water through the turf at over 25 inches per hour.
Clean the turf by blowing it off using Blower/Vac, hosing it off .
